Frank Schmitt

About

I’m Frank Schmitt, in Bellingham, Washington.

Job-wise, I spent the last eleven-plus years at Apptentive (later Alchemer) as the technical owner of ApptentiveKit, its iOS SDK — through a ground-up rewrite from Objective-C to Swift, a migration from Grand Central Dispatch to structured concurrency, and thirty releases where a broken API would have cascaded into thousands of builds I couldn’t see. Before that, iOS work at Moz and MacroView Labs, and before that, a decade in web development, prceeded by a year working on embedded software for electric-vehicle battery management and fast charging.

The résumé has the full account. Code lives on GitHub. Answers, occasionally, on Stack Overflow. Work history on LinkedIn.

Built with Zola, hosted on GitHub Pages, and kept deliberately plain. A couple of posts predate it by a long way — recovered from earlier incarnations of this domain and from an old blog, and reproduced as written bar a handful of typos. The rest of that material is still where it was.
