Implemented a variety of applications for providing self-managed websites to small business owners, primarily in PHP. Gained extensive experience with SQL (Oracle), Perl, and Linux, as well as configuring and racking servers. December 1999 to present.
Embedded Programmer (Consultant): Avatar Systems, LLC
Designed, implemented, tested and debugged solid-state data-logging for Davis Instruments’ award-winning CarChip product. Utilized Atmel AVR RISC microcontroller and Serial DataFlash memory. December 2000 to April 2001.
Controls Engineer, AeroVironment
Created control software for electric vehicle battery management and fast charging devices. Designed and tested hardware and driver software for a PC/104-compliant expansion board incorporating analaog and digital I/O and J1850 multiplex bus interfaces. July 1997 to July 1998.
Engineering Clinic: US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command
Designed and implemented a prototype handheld wireless device for monitoring vital signs of multiple casualty victims, incorporating flat panel display, battery/power supply, wireless modem and PC/104 CPU. September 1996 to May 1997.
Engineering Intern: Kilovac Corporation
Tested and refined solenoid magnetics for high power contactors. Implemented a semi-automated cleanroom production workstation using a PLC. Summer 1996.
